HIGH CENSUS NIGHT RATIOS, VICTORIA: MELBOURNE CENSUS NIGHT AND USUAL RESIDENT POPULATIONS, by Age and Sex, Melbourne, Victoria, 2011
The LGA of Melbourne had a Census Night ratio of 129. The characteristics of the population are very symmetrical, in the "Christmas tree" shape of other high ratio capital city LGAs (Perth, Adelaide, and Sydney). The Census Night ratios were 130 for males, and 127 for females. Census Night ratio varied somewhat by age. Census Night ratios were 124 for those aged under 20 years; 115 for those aged 20-29 years; and 141 for those aged 30 years and over.
